buck101st1@aol.com (Buck) I had the pleasure of personally knowing Sabo you could smell him a mile off because of his habit of using garlic with his copenhenging can chew. Sabo cared for his men and loved the 101st with a passion everytime we came in for a stand down if we didn't have any floor shows he would go out and steal them for us while we were in out of the bush. I think of him often.

Major Carter , U.S. Army Retired - Yes, I can confirm that the man on the left is 1st Lt. Ed Fernandez. He recieved a direct commisioned from President John Kennedy for being in the Bay of Pigs Battle. He volunteered to deploy with us to RVN. He held positions as Charlie Company XO, Weapons Platoon Leader and Tempoary Company Commander after Captain Rawls was KIA during Operation Gibralter near AN NINH on 18 Sep 1965. He was shortly replaced by Captain Bob Murphy as Company Commander.

Griff Sgt.Fletcher was one of the meanest warriors I ever knew. If I had been a gook, I would have left Viet Nam when I heard he had arrived. A real Sgt. Rock. He was a warrior's warrior.
